Another dangerous restaurants...

Momos are typical Tibetan dumplings made up with vegetables or meat. However, in this Tibetan restaurant they prepare Tibetan MOMS! Maybe they are also tasteful...

Another funny dish is that "spring rool" which it does not exist... I guess they were refering to the famous Spring rolls.

Do you like Coke? You shouldn´t order it in this

restaurant because they will bring you... cocaine!

Watch out for some menus...

You must be careful with this restaurant and the food you order. Maybe snakes are the speciality of the house... Well, I prefer thinking that they were refering to SNACKS instead of SNAKES.

Mexican loanwords for Mexican Food

I have recently discovered that there are plenty of words related to Mexican dishes which have no translation in English.

Some of those words are "burrito", "enchilada", "taco"or "chili con carne".

It would be difficult to translate appropiately those Mexican terms so English speakers tend to pave the way and use them in Spanish.

British English versus American English

One of the most famous words which is different between American English and British English is the word: "biscuit"(British English) and "cookie" (American one)

The second one also very famous by its difference between both countries is the British word “corn" and the American one, “grain"

The British word "maize" is also different from American one "corn"

The British word "aubergine" versus "eggplant" from American one.

Another one is the word "chips" the British one, and the American word "French fries"

"Potato crisp" is the British one and "potato chips" is the American word

The word "joint" in British English is different from American one which is "roast"

And everyone loves "sweets" (the British one) and "candies" in this case, the American one

DANGER OF FAST FOOD

Fast foods are the foods which can be prepared and served very rapidly. Characteristically, fast food is referred as food that sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients, and served to the consumer in a form of package for take-out/take-away. Nowadays, fast-food consumption has increased dramatically. Daily unhealthy eating and inactivity are responsible for more deaths than other all combined factors including alcohol, illicit use of drugs, sexual behavior, and firearms. Fast food statistics suggest that fast food is not good for your health while eating more than once a week.
Fast food creates a double whammy on health when you lead a deskbound lifestyle. Ton of calories are present in fast food and so eating this can cause needless weight gain, obesity, and overall poor health especially by greasy burgers and fries. In the US, Fifty million people are dependent on fast food that means lot of people eats a poor diet. America is not the only country having fast food chains, because although America is the most consumer, the continent number one is Europe with more fast-food chains in which highlight United Kingdom and Ireland. Other continents which have a great number of fast food chains are Asia followed by North America. However, the statistics of fast food on overweight Americans will cause you to consider they are the leaders in fast food industry although America is not the pioneer in those chains of fast-food because McDonalds, Subway and Burger King are the fast food restaurants which are situated in most of all the major cities of the world.

Heavenly beacon??

Imagine you are in a British patisserie and you want to ask for your favourite Spanish dessert; that is, "tocino de cielo". How would you translate it into English? Well, many Spanish speakers would use English words such as "heavenly" plus "beacon", that is "heavenly beacon".

heavenly (divino, de cielo) + beacon (tocino)= *heavenly beacon

However, the most approximate and right translation for that delicious dessert is "yolk dessert".You shouldn´t forget it if you love "tocino de cielo"!!
